Falls of Shin is a waterfall on the River Shin, in northern Scotland, near the villages of Bonar Bridge and Lairg.
The Falls of Shin are famous for being one of the best places in Scotland to view salmon in their natural habitat. The salmon can be seen leaping up the falls from the viewing platform between May " September. (The late summer months are the best time to see this!) There are lots of other fun activities to keep you entertained during your day at Falls of Shin: Enjoy a game of Mini Golf - Have fun in the Children's Playpark - Whether you prefer a vigorous walk or a more relaxing stroll to spot the local wildlife " there are many beautiful woodland paths to explore in the surrounding forest. Mac & Wild head home to the Highlands with their third restaurant at Falls of Shin - On the 28th June London's favourite Scottish restaurant Mac & Wild opened their third restaurant at the Falls of Shin in Scotland. Taking Mac & Wild back to its Highland roots, founders Andy Waugh and Calum Mackinnon are delighted to open the site at the Falls of Shin visitor centre, once known as the "Harrods of the North'. The latest opening sees Mac & Wild venture back to the heart and soul of the Highlands, where their story first began, continuing to showcase the best of Scottish produce and suppliers.
